a Spring-time walk in Summer-time weather :)
Who can resist the outdoors with this fabulous weather we’re having…?! And what better place to visit than the Japanese Garden in Clingendael Park. That’s exactly where Karola and I were this morning.
Now if only these images came with the wonderful scents these flowers gave…

Arriving at the entrance to the Japanese Garden…

It’s beautiful in here…

Lilly of the Valley, so tiny, and so pretty…

*smile* Here’s Karola and I:

Are you curious about the Japanese sign that Karola is holding? Visit Images to Inspire Hope to discover it’s meaning :-)

Usually there is a Buddha statue which sits on top of this red platform. Buddha was ‘sleeping’ today, and will be on display another time.

The Japanese Garden is an extra special place to visit. It’s only open for a short time so that it’s beauty can be preserved. Make a note in your calendar to visit before 12 June 2011, it’s a long wait till next year!

Hope you enjoyed these images as much as I enjoyed taking them :-)
Thanks for stopping by!
Best wishes,
~Natalie

Autumn in The Hague
I don’t know about where you are, but here in The Hague, autumn seemed to pass in the blink of an eye! On a damp and drizzly day in November, I met the beautiful H. Family. They were absolutely fabulous, and totally rocked their family session in Clingendael Park, even braving the rain!

Having endured several days of stormy winds, there weren’t so many leaves left on the trees, but the floor was a sea of gold. So beautiful!

Finding shelter from the rain…

They were an absolute delight to photograph!

:-)

And when we were done, it was (finally!) time to climb trees… ;-)

Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Best wishes,
~Natalie

a birthday treat
This beautiful family had just returned from a holiday on the west coast of the USA and although they were still jet-lagged they had oodles of energy during their session. It was Mom’s birthday and we celebrated with a fun photosession in the park :-)

It was a gorgeous day, and although it was still technically summer, this was a session for Christmas portraits so the discovery of autumn leaves was a welcome one and out came some warm winter coats for a few of the photos.

After the park we moved to their home for a quick studio session, here’s a couple of my favourites…

Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek! :-)

it’s Vini’s family :)
After several days of gorgeous sunshine and warm weather, it was suddenly a very wet morning in The Hague… the sky was grey in all directions, and not the slightest hint of sun or blue sky in sight… should we reschedule, should we not… we decided to go ahead anyway but with a change of location, so I headed off to Gouda (where it was a little less rainy) to meet Vinita, JK, and their son, Vivaan :-)
Vinita is one of my closest friends and a great photographer, I’m sure many of you will have seen photos of her on my blog before – we have a lot of fun on our photo days ;-) I am truly honored that she chose me to photograph her family :-)
Vini… I hope you enjoy your sneak peek :-)
Our first stop was the park and there was a children’s play area there… Vivaan was too cute, he wanted to play on EVERYTHING! His lovely white shirt didn’t stay white for long!! ;-)
(clickety click on the image above to see the three pics bigger ;) I soooo need to upgrade my blog to allow for bigger pics! hopefully soon…)

I looooove this one.. you’re both so happy and smiley, this is really how I know you :-))

I think Vivaan was getting tired.. oh no… wait…. ;)

haha! so FUN! I sure would like to know where Vivaan gets all his energy from..!! ;-)
Vini and JK – it really was a blast to spend the morning with you and to capture all those images that are rare in a photographer’s family.. I’m so glad we went out and braved the rain! Hope you love your sneak peek, I can’t wait to share all the images with you :-)

triple the fun: 3 boys
It’s time for another sneak peak!
Last weekend I had a really fun time photographing a wonderful family from Australia. We first visited the Japanese Garden for some photos there but we ended up sharing the garden with a film crew and I don’t think they were overly enthusiastic about our rendition of baa baa black sheep, so we left for an adventure in Clingendael Park instead…
But first, since I love the bright red bridges in the Japanese Garden, meet Finn, Ronan and Declan…

There is a gorgeous staircase and a beautifully kept garden in Clingendael so we spent some time there, playing catch and blowing bubbles… and I kept catching Declan resting his hands on his hips, such a cutie!

And, here’s another one, hands on hips again… and looking a little curious about the bubbles his mum was blowing..

So, in an attempt to have all three boys smiling at the same time….

I couldn’t see what mum and dad were up to behind me but it was evidently very funny!
- pssst. out of the corner of my eye I caught dad dancing an irish jig! shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone!

*teehee* the boys were laughing so hard; every time I see this photo I remember their infectious laughter and a smile spreads across my face – it was definitely a fun morning!
We had some time to go and visit the playground too…

Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek!!

The colours of Autumn…
Isn’t it great when the sun is shining… we’re coming to the end of autumn now but there are a few trees that still have their autumn leaves and when the sun’s rays catch.. ahh beautiful. I love autumn! A couple of weeks ago I met Anthea for some outdoor portraits in the Paleis and we were lucky that the weather was being very kind to us that morning, and there was plenty of autumn colour too!
Anthea, your full gallery is almost ready, but here’s a quick sneak peek for you :)

here’s one from the studio too:

Thanks for a great session Anthea, I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek!
