What inspires you?
I am so excited to share this sneak peek…
Earlier this week I met with writer and author, Carolyn Vines, who’s well on the way to finishing her first book, a memoir entitled ‘black and (A)broad: doing it in Holland‘ and I couldn’t be more excited for her as she nears the finish line.

Carolyn not only asked me to take her PR portraits but three days before her portrait session she asked for portraits that “scream ‘inspiration’”. Now, that really made me think long and hard at how I was to achieve this seemingly momentous task. I always aim to capture the personality of my subjects in their portraits, but a portrait that immediately makes the viewer feel inspired is so much more than that, at least I felt it was. I was ready for the challenge and all of those three days my brain was buzzing with ideas! I’ll have more of those kind of challenges please! ;-)

Carolyn, you really are SO beautiful. I loved having you in front of my camera! :-)
A quick change of outfit to finish off the session…

Carolyn, thank you for a wonderful portrait session. I really enjoyed our time together and can’t wait to see your book in print. Wishing you all the best as you near the finishing post!
Are you feeling inspired? Are you curious to learn more about Carolyn and her book? Visit her award winning blog at www.blackandabroad.com
Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek…
Till next time!

a sneak peek for Julie!
The New Year is fast approaching and I’ve been hearing fireworks going off all day… I really hope the fog clears a bit more so that we can see all the fireworks at the strike of midnight (the Dutch go C-R-A-Z-Y with New Year fireworks, I kid you not!) We’re lucky to have a view over the rooftops and usually we can see fireworks from all over The Hague which is great… of course, that only works on a clear night, and with all the fireworks going off too, it’s going to get incredibly foggy over here!
Well onto the sneak peek that I know Julie’s been so patiently waiting for! Just before Christmas we had a GREAT session creating some beautiful lifestyle portraits and studio portraits, and we were all over the house with my lights and backdrops! Julie, you are going to love your gallery once it’s all finished! It was so hard to choose just a few photos, they are all so good! But here you are, a few ‘studio’ ones for your sneak peek….

I hope you enjoyed those Julie… can’t wait for you to see the rest….. I’m so excited for you!
I also have to say that is was soooooo good to walk into your home and see the huge canvas of your twins hanging above the fireplace. It looked fantastic! I love seeing my photos displayed in my clients homes :)
Have a great New Year everyone! Wishing you all the best for 2009!

‘Feel at Home’ Prize Draw Winner!
I can’t believe it’s almost December.. where did the year go?! Time is truly flying by and I’m working like crazy to get all my orders ready for Christmas…
Do you remember the prize draw I had at the Feel at Home in The Hague fair?
The winner of my Basic Portrait Package was Naira and we had a great session. I’m sure you will agree with me that she looks stunning, and her outfits were lovely, so bright and colourful!
Thanks Naira for a fun session… I had such a hard time choosing just a *few* for your sneak peak but here you are, I hope you enjoy them!

I hope you enjoyed your sneak peak!

The colours of Autumn…
Isn’t it great when the sun is shining… we’re coming to the end of autumn now but there are a few trees that still have their autumn leaves and when the sun’s rays catch.. ahh beautiful. I love autumn! A couple of weeks ago I met Anthea for some outdoor portraits in the Paleis and we were lucky that the weather was being very kind to us that morning, and there was plenty of autumn colour too!
Anthea, your full gallery is almost ready, but here’s a quick sneak peek for you :)

here’s one from the studio too:

Thanks for a great session Anthea, I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek!
